Directions for: Garden-Fresh Turkey Burgers
Ingredients
1 lb(s) 99% lean ground turkey breast
1 cup Large Flake Quaker Oats or Quick Quaker Oats (uncooked)
cup finely chopped onion
cup finely chopped red or green bell pepper
cup shredded zucchini (about 1 small)
cup ketchup
2 clove garlic, minced
tsp salt (optional)
6 whole wheat hamburger buns, split, toasted
cup non-fat sour cream
Lettuce and tomato slices (optional)
Directions
1. Lightly spray rack of broiler pan with cooking spray.
2. In medium bowl, combine turkey, oats, onion, bell pepper, zucchini, ketchup, garlic and salt, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Shape into six 1/2-inch thick patties.
3. Broil or grill patties 7 to 9 minutes on each side or until golden brown and no longer pink in centre. Serve on buns with rounded tablespoon sour cream per serving. Garnish with lettuce and tomato, if desired.
4. Cook's Tip: If 99% lean ground turkey breast is not available, other ground turkey may be substituted. Proceed as recipe directs.
