
Directions for: Rosemary Lamb Burgers with Cheese
Ingredients
1 egg
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp (15 mL) balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
tsp (2 mL) each salt and pepper
cup (175 mL) shredded Black Diamond Old Cheddar Cheese (about 3 oz/90 g)
cup (60 mL) panko or dry breadcrumbs
1 Tbsp (15 mL) finely chopped fresh rosemary (or 3/4 teaspoon/4 mL dried)
1 lb(s) (500 g) lean ground lamb
4 burger buns
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 slices red onion
Directions
1. In a bowl, beat egg with garlic, vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper. Stir in cheese, breadcrumbs and rosemary. Mix in lamb; shape into four -inch (2 cm) thick patties.
2. Place patties on greased grill over medium-high heat; close lid and grill, turning once, until a digital thermometer inserted sideways into centre reads 160F (71C), about 15 minutes.
3. Split and toast buns on grill. Top with lettuce, patty, tomato and onion; top with bun lids.
