One of the pre-made sandwiches that we sell from the fridges at our Bloor and Spadina locations. Keeps really well, so would be great for a picnic or for a kids lunch. We make both a vegan and a non-vegan version.Tempeh is a traditional soy product originally from Indonesia. It is made by a natural culturing and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans into a cake form, similar to a very firm vegetarian burger patty. Like tofu, tempeh is made from soybeans, but tempeh is a whole soybean product with different nutritional characteristics and textural qualities. Tempeh's fermentation process and its retention of the whole bean give it a higher content of protein, dietary fibre, and vitamins. It has a firm texture and an earthy, nutty flavour. You will usually find it at health food stores or better grocery stores in the freezer section. Braggs Liquid Aminos (or just Braggs for short) is a certified NON-GMO liquid protein concentrate, derived from soybeans, that contains many essential and non-essential amino acids. It is gluten free, not heated and not fermented, and is used by many as a replacement for tamari and soy sauce.
